How Lauren met David

David and I met my first year of college at UGA. He was a sophomore living in his fraternity house and I was a freshmen who still trying to make friends. One day Patrick a friend of mine that was drum-line with David, told him about this girl he had to meet. Patrick proceeded to let me know that I had to meet a kid named Beeco- all I could think was how weird of a name that was! Later that week, we drove to the fraternity house and David introduced himself as David to me. All the while I was still wondering who this Beeco kid was. Come to find out his name is David Beeco. David will be the first to admit I did not like him at first. It wasn’t that he wasn’t adorable and super sweet, I just wasn’t looking for a relationship. David persevered and after a few long months and 3 different “I just want to be friends” he hooked me. That was almost 4 and 1/2 years ago and we have been steady ever since

Lauren and David Proposal Story

David proposed at the Georgia Aquarium the day after our 3 and 1/2 year anniversary, which happened to be the week before I graduated. He told me he wanted to take me somewhere as a graduation gift and I told him to make it a surprise. We were driving through Atlanta that morning and he starts to turn off on the Aquarium exit, to which I exclaim: “David are we going to the Aquarium!?” He told me yes AND we were going on a back stage tour AND “There is another surprise when we get there” which I honestly could not fathom what that would be.

When we arrive at the security line I am rushing through trying to get inside. Behind me, David is taking his time and gets stopped by the security guard when she asks him to take everything out of his pockets. He tells her that he can’t because he has a ring in his pocket. The guard looks confused until he says “I’m going to propose.” She exclaims “Here??” Big boost of confidence at the last moment for him! When we get to the counter where we are picking up our special tickets someone literally runs into the back of me. I turn around to see my best friend who is coming on the tour with us! This was my other surprise! At the end of the tour we sat front center in the largest room to watch a diving show. A few minutes after it is over a worker stands up at the front and tells the audience that he needs two volunteers then points to me and David. David promptly stands and I get up confused.

We face the audience that is now gather so that our backs are to the tank while the worker asks us question about our tour. He then tells me “Now if you turn around, there is another fish for you to see” while the audience gasps. I completely think that something terrifying is about to pop up and scare me, but when I turn around I see a diver in the tank hold a fish shaped sign that reads “Lauren, Will you marry me? -David.” I cannot believe it and turn to David who is smiling and takes my hands. The only response I can give is Oh my gawd! While he gets down on one knee and pulls out a beautiful ring that he picked out based on something I had seen a month before. Of course I said yes! The whole time my best friend is taking pictures and a video while a photographer from the aquarium is also taking pictures. In the end I had a whole bunch of cute pictures and a ton of strangers from the audience telling me congratulations.

How They  Met

Jennifer and Brandon both went to Penn State University and rushed Phi Sigma Pi, the National Coed Honors Fraternity, in fall 2007. The two quickly became friends, and spent most of their time hanging out together with a group of their fellow Brothers. Brandon asked Jennifer to have lunch with him one day at Jimmy John’s in downtown State College, and they ended up spending the entire day walking around campus and talking together before she finally realized it was a date! In August 2008 Brandon asked Jennifer to make things official, and the rest is history!

Brandon surprised Jennifer with breakfast in bed one October morning. He told her to look under her pillow, to see if she had been a good girl and the tooth fairy had left something for her there. When she picked up her pillow and looked, there was a jewelry box. She opened the box, but it was empty. Jennifer laughed and said ” oh well, I guess I haven’t been very good,” then Brandon pulled another box out of his pocket, got down on one knee, and popped the question!

How Kayla  met Zach

Zack and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner at Pappasito’s Cantina near Atlanta.  We didn’t hit it off immediately, but by the end of the night, I knew I wanted to get to know him better.  When I got home that night, I sent Zack a Facebook friend request, and he almost immediately struck up a chat conversation that lasted until the early morning.  Three days later, we had our first date, which consisted of dinner at another Mexican restaurant and a movie.  The movie was terrible, but by the end, neither of us wanted to leave.  We spent hours talking by our cars in the parking deck, neither of us wanting the conversation to end.  We have been inseparable ever since!  Zack is such a gentleman, and his chivalry did not go unnoticed.  He always opens doors for me, including car doors, and surprises me with sweet little gestures like flowers and homemade meals.  It didn’t take long for me to fall for him.  I am very shy and introverted, and I knew I needed to be with someone who would push me to be more active and social than I would be on my own.  Zack does just that.  We have so much fun together, and we share a lot of the same goals, ambitions, and beliefs.   We both love dogs, and I was thrilled to see how well my little boy, Domino, gets along with his girls, Sadee and Eva!

Kaitlin and Bryan Proposal Story

On July 12, 2012, Zack contacted my dad and requested that they meet at a shooting range to practice shooting.  Zack is a local law enforcement officer, and my dad is a commercial airline pilot and federal officer, so firearms are a common interest and related to both their careers.  After depleting all the ammunition, Zack told my dad that he had ulterior motives for asking him to meet there, at which time he presented a beautiful Tacori engagement ring.  My dad gave his blessing on the engagement and thankfully did not go searching for more ammunition.

Zack had planned to propose the following weekend during a weekend getaway in Chattanooga, TN, for his birthday.  However, Zack is terrible at keeping secrets and let it slip the week prior that he had the ring.  He knew I would be expecting it during our trip, so he decided to propose sooner in an attempt to surprise me.  On July 17, I arrived home after work expecting Zack to meet me there for dinner.  When I opened the front door, I was greeted by rose petals and roses guiding me on a path to my bedroom. When I entered my bedroom, I found roses positioned in the shape of a large heart on my bed, which had been shot by a rose “arrow” piercing the ring as the bull’s eye in the center of the heart.  I turned around to find Zack at the doorway to the bedroom where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, to which I of course said, “YES!”  We spent the following weekend in Chattanooga celebrating Zack’s birthday and our new engagement.  We took a backstage tour of the Tennessee Aquarium, visited Rock City, toured the caves to Ruby Falls, and rode the Incline Railway.  The weekend was wonderful, and we cannot wait to be married on October 12, 2013!
